Seminar Guidelines

The MBS Seminars Committee is dedicated to planning, organizing, and hosting seminars by inviting eminent and emerging scholars. On an annual basis, the committee will review and approve speakers that enriches the students, faculty, department and university by bringing diverse subject matter.

The MBS Seminar Series occurs every Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Thursday at 12 p.m. in NHB 1.720 or virtually via zoom during the Fall and Spring semesters. For questions and a detailed policy guide, please contact the Seminar Coordinatorsmbs_events@austin.utexas.edu.

GUIDELINES FOR SEMINAR NOMINATIONS:

  1. Only MBS faculty are allowed to nominate speakers.
  2. The speaker should have a tenure track or equivalent position. 
  3. There are no limits on nominating per faculty, however the number of visits that can be hosted per semester is at the committee's discretion, favoring Junior Faculty nominations.
  4. Nominations are accepted year round.

The deadline to nominate for the Fall semester is January 15. The deadline for the Spring semester is June 15.
