The Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium (FURS) showcases undergraduate research in biological and chemical sciences from UT Austin and across Texas.
Undergraduate researchers from The University of Texas at Austin and across Texas will speak on their research projects in the biological and chemical sciences and may participate in the Science Slam.
General sessions will include 8-minute research presentations followed by 2 minutes of questions. Science Slam talks are 3-minute “elevator” talks in which students describe their research targeting a non-scientist/layperson audience. Graduate schools from across Texas will also be at the event for recruiting.
The keynote speaker with be Dr. Despoina Mavridou (Molecular Biosciences) speaking on her work “The Silent Pandemic: Why is there an antibiotic resistance crisis and what could we do about it?".
