Description
Undergraduate researchers from UT and across Texas will speak on their research projects in the biological and chemical sciences and may participate in the Science Slam!
Students conducting research in the biological or chemical sciences interested in presenting at FURS have the option of giving an 8-minute long oral presentation accompanied by a slideshow and a 2 minute question period, a 3-minute Science Slam talk, or both. Science Slam talks are 3-minute "elevator" talks in which you describe your research targeting a non-scientist/layperson audience. The presentation should be 3 minutes MAXIMUM and is not to be accompanied by any slides or pamphlets. You will be judged on your ability to communicate your research/science to a non-scientist audience and the style of your presentation.
UT Honors students, presenting at FURS counts towards your presentation requirement (Science Slam talks do not count).
Graduate Programs from across Texas will have tables at the event -- come for coffee and pastries. Lunch will be provided to all presenters, volunteers, and other attendees.
Sponsored by the student affiliates of UT ASBMB
