MBS Seminar: Dr. Shasha Chong
Thursday, December 12, 2019, 04:00pm - 05:00pm
Contact Dr. Jason McLellan

Seminar Title: "Illuminating the dark proteome that regulates gene transcription by live-cell single-molecular imaging"

Dr. Chong received her PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from Harvard University under the direction of Dr. Xiaoliang Sunney Xie and performed her postdoc at UC Berkeley with Dr. Robert Tjian and Dr. Xavier Darzacq. Her research focuses on the development of powerful new tools based on quantitative single-cell and single-molecule imaging to study gene regulation. In particular, she probes the behaviors of intrinsically disordered protein regions at the single-molecule level in live cells and has revealed their dynamic, multivalent and selective interactions that drive transcription in the context of physiology and disease.
